The Harley-Davidson Pan America Special is at the TOP OF THE HEAP, when it comes to American Adventure Touring. This incredibly versatile machine just might be the best “all around” motorcycle in our Fleet. The model itself makes it obvious, even to an untrained eye, what its purpose is. What is not so obvious, are its other capabilities. It’s one of the most capable Touring Bikes The Motor Company builds, whether it’s day long rides through the Mountains of East TN, North Georgia and Western North Carolina, or a month’s long sojourn to the four corners of this great land of ours! It packs more Horsepower than any other motorcycle in the Harley-Davidson line-up, so it’s more than capable of carrying whatever you need, for as far as you need to go, whether that’s just you, or you and a passenger, and all the gear two adventurers need for the journey. It’s long legged, with all the suspension, ground clearance, and lean angle you need for carving through the mountainous tarmac or bouncing down a gravel road, or even traversing the most challenging terrain. The Pan America has a “semi active suspension” which means you’ll set a ride mode for the day . . . or even on the fly . . . and the bike will self-adjust for the load, whether you’re alone, or with a passenger . . . even your gear. As with our entire fleet, the Pan Americas are equipped with ABS, as well as electronic cruise control. THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS MOTORCYCLE: • It is VERY TALL. While ALL of our available Pan Americas are equipped with an adjustable seat, and Adaptive Ride Height, they are still very tall. If you have a shorter inseam, managing this motorcycle could be challenging. • Luggage rack, but we do not have passenger backrests available for them. ALL of our Pan America Motorcycles are equipped with hard locking side saddlebags and a rear luggage carrier. Unfortunately, we do not have passenger backrests available for them currently. • To access GPS, Music, and other onboard technology through the computer requires the download of an APP from Harley-Davidson. Don’t worry, it’s functional with iPhone, as well as Android, and can easily be deleted after your trip. • Every Harley-Davidson in our fleet is a late model, lower mileage, and well maintained right here at SMOKY MOUNTAIN HARLEY-DAVIDSON. We are especially particular with regards to safety, including brakes, tires, and suspension. ALL of our motorcycles are regularly maintained on an even more rigorous schedule than required for a privately owned motorcycle.
